BM-7201 MiG-21 Early Versions 1/72

In 1962 the first single seated jet fighter aircraft MiG-21 were brought to the Yugoslav Air Force. Between the years of 1962 and 1966, 41 aircraft under L-12 marking were delivered. The core of the Yugoslav Air Force and the Air Defence was consisted of squadrons equipped with F-86E and F-84G fighters. The new supersonic jet fighter soon gained the pilots sympathies with the capability of flying supersonic and with the modern technology. The operational version named MiG-21 F13 soon replaced the F-86E and the F-86D fighters many squadrons. Two-seater versions of MiG-21 U were also delivered for training. The aircraft were brought from Russia to Yugoslavia without colour and with Russian stencils. During the first overhauling the aircraft were coloured silver and had the stencils changed.
